The Adidas Superstars phenomenon among sneaker fans really took off when I was in high school in the mid-1990s. I had a pair of red, white and blue Superstars that may have been my all-time favorite pair of shoes. A crafty customizer can do a lot with the Superstars by doing very little since most of the Superstars are a blank canvas punctuated by colored stripes.
The picture above is a pair of custom Adidas Superstars that do not go overboard but offer something new. Matching black paint was used to treat the exterior of the shoe to match the black stripes included in the shoes. A small gold symbol on the heel is the mark of this customizing Zorro. This pair of Superstars is a good template for any customizer that is wondering how they can make their mark without an elaborate design.
