OneLLK posted these custom Adidas Superstars on Nike Talk recently. These Superstars feature minimal additions beyond the black/white colorway in an effort to maintain the integrity of a classic Adidas shoe.
The designer applied a light green color to two of the three Adidas stripes on both shoes. He also filled in the Adidas symbol on the tongue and heel with matching paint. I don’t mind the mint green used on these shoes but there are a few problems in terms of overall design.
It can be difficult to improve upon a shoe like the Adidas Superstar but OneLLK didn’t go far enough in his customization. The risk of applying brighter colors and cartoon images to a blank shoe is worth the possible scorn if the design is successful. I think these Adidas Superstar customs are a start toward something great instead of a finished product.
