The founder of Bathing Ape who is Nigo always has the talent for eyeing all things that are of American classic style. So when it comes to coming up with various sneaker designs, it cannot be denied that BAPE really takes some interesting designs from Converse, particularly their Chuck Taylor All Star. This is the BAPE Apesta Check.

This would definitely remind you of the latest Woolrich and Converse collaborative sneakers. However, instead of the Buffalo checks that were very typical in 2008 and 2009, these sneakers come with the more subtle plaid pattern sneakers. This is what you will see too on the recent western shirt designs which are the usual fashion of most youngsters today.

Simple Sta by BAPE

This Simple Sta from BAPE is known to be a hybrid shoe which mixes the looks and appeal of various BAPE silhouettes. Even though BAPE has been known for their ever original designs, this Japanese streetwear company is most popular for its premium materials that come in utmost level of quality.

Recently, the summer 2010 lineup of BAPE Crape was introduced. Now, some BAPE stores have already gotten the BAPE Simple Sta. This has an upper that would remind you greatly of the Red Wing workboot that many have praised much too. Nike Air Force 1 also has some major influence on the design of this shoe.

It has thick hiking boot lace with a rugged touch of finish to what would appear like high quality leather. Its colors and materials also have two leather pairs that are available in burgundy and black along with a brown suede set. It has an off white midsole for all three uppers.

BAPE and Neighborhood Collaboration

It is this appointed year that Neighborhood and BAPE will collaborate to come up with a new shoe collection that is called NHBA Brotherhood. The founders of both BAPE and Neighborhood in the names of Nigo and Shinsuke Takizawa released one of the photos of a particular piece in the line of collection.

This sneaker, if you would notice, looks the same like the Converse Chuck Taylor High but this time with all the custom symbols. The symbols on the other hand look like the New York Yankees brand in interlocking letters. These symbols are embroidered right on the upper part of the shoes, in its entirety. It’s like seeing a Louis Vuitton bag with all its LV symbols all over.

We must continue to stay tuned for more updates from the very interesting collaboration which could possibly result for more colorways and designs for this particular shoe collection series.

Bathing Apes sneakers are very well know for its loud colors, original designs and use of expensive materials. And so that makes the sneakers a little more expensive than the others. Founder of this Japanese clothing company, Tomoaki “Nigo” Nagao is absolutely a genius.

Of all the Bathing Apes sneakers you are about to see today, The red one (above) is my favorite among all.

A Bathing Ape Bapesta “Ostrich”

Three more colorways in a new material are added to A Bathing Ape’s Bapesta lineup. Shunning away from their signature patent leather lineup, the newly-released Bapestas feature an ostrich leather detailing that added texture and dimension to the collection. The lineup appears solid in a classic low-top silhouette that seems to assure comfort when wearing them.  The colorways include three options in Magenta/Blue/White (shown above), White and Tan/Black/White.  All three pairs also feature white laces that make a nice contrast to the Magenta and Tan colorways.

Retailing at $200, these kicks are now available at all Bape stores nationwide.

A Bathing Ape is releasing 3 new colorways of their Five Sta Sneakers for Fall 2009. The new color mixes and Bape’s shift to earthtone colors are somewhat going to the direction of New Balance’s design. These new runners feature suede and leather combos in 3 subtle color tones in brown, white and black. No word on the pricing yet. Check availability at Bape’s retail stores near your area.

Kanyesta is probably one of the most known BAPESTAS ever. In the run-up for the Teriyaki Boyz single “I still love H.E.R.” feat. Kanye West, the Star producer/rapper got together with NIGO to create this amazing piece of sneaker history. One interesting detail to note in this shoe is the “College Dropout Bear” on the left side of the shoe. Available at Schuh-You.

Bathing Ape x Ghostbusters

Bathing Ape in collaboration of Columbia pictures created a line of bapestas and clothes to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the 80s hit comedy “Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters”. The lineup consists of two pairs of Bapestas, one in white/red and the other a red/white colorway. Both feature the Ghostbusters famous logo on the heel of the sneaker as well as on the upper back ankle support. Also included as part of the collection are a couple of shirts as well as a coffee mug. Now available at all Bape stores & on ebay.
