Every reader who has a pulse and knows a little about the footwear market knows about the Marty McFly Hyperdunks as noted in an earlier post by one of my colleagues. Designer Emmanuelabor went to work on customizing a pair of Air Force Ones resembling the shoes worn by Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future II. The result is an inspired though loosely related pair of custom sneakers that should please some sneaker fans.
Emmanuelabor lifted the tongue designs (2015 and two arrows) as well as the basic pattern behind the Nike swooshes for this project. The designer went with a lighter gray color as well as bright colored laces to put his own stamp on the shoes. His post on Nike Talk regarding these customs acknowledges that the end result was not entirely what he wanted. He began these shoes with the hopes of creating a pair of simulated McFly Hyperdunks for his own use. I think that Emmanuelabor’s efforts were successful despite his modesty.
Emmanuelabor says that he plans on finishing another pair of McFly shoes using the Nike Dunk Highs as his canvas. Readers can check out Emmanuelabor’s custom footwear and other projects at the MySpace page linked here.
