Ripp was commissioned by a fellow church member to create a pair of custom Air Force Ones for a young girl named Armani. Armani loves stars and the color pink which Ripp used as his inspiration. The result is a pair of Air Force Ones that stands out from other custom sneakers.
The base colors are pink/black/white to match Armani’s favorite colors. Ripp added clusters of colorful stars on the toe box and heel before stringing a few stars along the side. The notches along the outsole are colored with red, blue, yellow and green shades to match the stars. Ripp painted the name Armani along the side with a combination of colorful paint and glitter to make these shoes her own.
While Ripp’s custom job is flawless, I am most impressed by his use as loose glitter rather than glitter paint. The designer spent nearly three weeks applying glitter and finishing fine touches on these Air Force Ones to get them just right. You can contact Ripp at rippgetem22@yahoo.com to turn your plain AF1s into a work of art.
