Maharishi has unleashed a pair of Spring/Summer 2008 offerings that should please a small number of tourists and casual walkers. The black Maharishis pictured above should not be worn by sneaker fans on a daily basis. The netting along the side along with the low profile of the shoe make this model ineffective unless you are enjoying a casual dinner outside.
The tan/pink colorway shown below is a better option for walkers, tennis players and other outdoors enthusiasts. This model by Maharishi is more attractive than the black model at the top of this post. Shoe strings, stitching and a stripe across the outsole are colored pink to stand out from tan canvas. This Maharishi model can compete with Converse, Keds and K-Swiss in terms of casual shoes designed for warm climates.
I think Maharishi did not produce its finest shows for the upcoming spring season. The tan/pink shoe is a strong entry but its virtues are countered by the poor construction of the black Maharishi.
