The set of four classic Reeboks that form the Reebok Chain Gang leave a lot to be desired for most sneaker fans. I can remember in my formative years that Reeboks were low in the sneaker food chain somewhere between plain white New Balance walking shoes and the entire Saucony brand. Each of the Chain Gang members features a fresh colorway, anti-microbial sole and a treated lining ideal for workout warriors.
The problem is that Reebok is returning to styles that are less than thrilling. Some companies can get away with bringing back cult (read: few people bought them) designs in an effort to capture the retro sneaker crowd. A few sneaker fans may take their chance on the oddly-named Chain Gang but it may be for practical purposes rather than a love of the boring templates used by Reebok in the past.
