Medusa Dunk Highs by Diversitile

Customs are always some of the best sneakers we will ever see. Designers put so much detail into their designs that its hard for people to hate. Well here is a pair of Nike Dunk Highs that had a lot of hard work put into it and boy did it ever pay off. These custom Nike Dunk Highs were designed by the kings of customs, Diversitile. Diversitile created this custom Dunk During the end of last year, but it has just surfaced. The sneaker is based off the Titan Gorgon Medusa. Diversitile had this idea for a long time, but not rushing the design was a great decision by Diversitile.

Most of the sneaker is covered with a stony cracked texture to represent the shoe being turned into stone. Red is used on areas such as the Nike Swooshes and tongue while grey is seen on the panels. A visual imagery of Medusa herself is placed towards the back of the sneaker with her eyes made of real red sapphires. To top off the whole design, Diversitile adds a custom box with the inside of the box lined with crushed velvet. These are one of the best customs i have ever seen and the box throws it over the top. Major props to Diversitile.

Dr. Doom Dunk Highs

Diversitile Custom Clothing was approached by a comic book fan recently who wanted a pair of shoes modeled after Dr. Doom. Dr. Doom is one of my favorite comic book villains because he uses his intelligence instead of brute force to battle the Fantastic Four. I found Diversitile’s Dr. Doom Dunk Highs at the designer’s Customsnkr.com blog linked here.

I was most impressed by Diversitile’s recreation of metal plates and bolts on the toe box and heel. The three-dimensional look and the realistic appearance of shiny metal take advanced skills that few designers possess. Diversitile also does a great job of fading the metallic silver from the heel into a heated orange color at the front end of the Nike swoosh.

Diversitile’s depiction of Dr. Doom varies from a closeup look at the scientist’s masked face to a broader view of Dr. Doom igniting balls of electricity with his hands. As someone who is a big fan of Dr. Doom, I think that Diversitile did justice to this established villain in the Marvel universe. He was able to capture Dr. Doom’s torment as well as his evil genius without writing any words or creating an entire comic book.

Vine Blossom Dunk Highs

Diversitile Custom Clothing had a fashion shoot recently for its fall line of clothes and shoes. The designer decided to leak these custom Dunk Highs called the Vine Blossoms through the Customsnkr.com blog linked here. Diversitile says in the post that the Vine Blossom Dunk Highs mix “friendly but dangerous” elements in a single design.

One look at the Vine Blossom Dunk Highs make this quote ring true. The picture above shows both shoes lined up heel to heel; the result is a pair of ominous eyes glaring through green vines. Diversitile added a lush green paint to the front of the Nike swoosh along with some pink flowers to complete the vine blossom theme.

If you look at the shoe from heel to toe, you will notice that the vine blossom motif shows up consistently. The color of the pink blossoms match the pink paint used on the swoosh as it rounds the heel as well as the color used on the toe box. You will notice that a set of blossoms float along a gray backdrop alongside the toe box. Diversitile has defied convention successfully while blending the frightening eyes on the heels with the placid pink blossoms on the rest of the shoe.

Shattered Air Force Supremes

Diversitile Custom Clothing premiered the Shattered Supremes ahead of the release of its new clothing line. These photos were found on Diversitile’s Customsnkr.com blog linked here and show the designer’s eye for detail. If these shoes are a preview of Diversitile’s new line, I cannot wait to see the designer’s new work.

These Air Force Supremes start out simple with a turquoise/brown colorway. These two colors may not seem like a natural combination but I liked the unusual look of turquoise wrapping around brown toe boxes. The real magic begins when you look at the middle panel.

Diversitile used a broken glass design behind the Nike swoosh that embraces the beauty of colorful chaos. The shattered slices of color extend from the middle of the Nike swoosh up through the eyelets. The overall effect is a delightful mess that is difficult to look away from after a few moments.

I am eager to see what Diversitile has in mind for the clothing company’s upcoming line. I hope we see more of the off-kilter colors and designs featured on the Shattered Supremes.
