MACHE x Nike Air Force 1 Custom – Jokers

Since the release of the mega hit movie Batman: The Dark Knight, everyone has applauded the role of the Joker played by the late Heath Ledger. So much so that we’ve seen several custom shoes inspired by the character, but this latest pair may be the nicest yet. This pair of Air Force Ones were created by MACHE and feature a colorful upper consisting of purple, white, green, and red, which are all colors associated with the Joker through either his clothing or make – up. Like others we have seen, they feature the question Why So Serious? which was one of the Joker’s most memorable lines in the movie. (more…)

Joker Air Force Ones

EmmanueLabor has joined a growing number of sneaker artists who are paying tribute to Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight. His latest project is a pair of Nike Air Force Ones based on the outfits worn by the Joker throughout the movie. These photos were taken from EmmanueLabor’s latest Nike Talk post linked here.

The exterior of the Joker Air Force Ones feature a simple purple/black colorway that is evocative of the Joker’s signature suits. EmmanueLabor shows his true colors with the small surprises on the tongue, heel tag and outsole.

The outside of the tongue features a perfect recreation of the card given to the Joker’s victims in the movie. The tongue’s interior lining is a colorful argyle pattern that is featured on the villain’s socks. EmmanueLabor added scuff marks to the white outsole to simulate the paint that wears off the Joker’s face throughout the movie. I love the Joker Air Force Ones and hope to see other designers step up to the level that EmmanueLabor has set.

Nike SB Dunk Low Premium- The Joker

With Heath Ledger’s stellar performance as Joker in the blockbuster movie, the Dark Knight, it is only fitting that Nike release a pair of Nike SB Dunk Low Premium- The Joker. The shoes feature a very Joker-esque colorway of green, purple and black. Green canvas makes up both the heel and the toe box, while a black and purple flannel pattern is seen on the side panels. A substitute pair of red laces is also included. These pair is scheduled to release in Spring 2009.

Chuck Taylor Customs: The Joker

It seems like everyone in the United States has already seen The Dark Knight judging by last weekend’s box office sales. I found a pair of Chuck Taylor customs that make my wait for The Dark Knight easier to handle. Sweatshop Clothing has created a special pair of these familiar canvas kicks based on Heath Ledger’s character, The Joker.

The ominous phrase “Why so serious?” that appears in the trailer and promotional materials is written in red paint just above the outsole. An outstanding image of Ledger’s deranged Joker is placed just below the collars on both shoes. Sweatshop Clothing took great care to make Ledger’s likeness realistic to capture The Joker’s ability to terrorize without making a move.

The designer completed the Joker effect by adding spades, jacks, hearts and diamonds similar to the joker card that inspired Ledger’s character. I cannot wait to see this movie now that I have seen such a great representation by Sweatshop Clothing.
