Disney x Etnies Plus Upsetter - #1

Disney has made a bigger push on the shoe front recently. And here, Etnies Plus has teamed up with Disney on the Co:Lab collection. This series of sneakers is decorated with some of your favorite Disney characters.

Using the Upsetter shoe model, these kicks are sure to be a hit with fans of Disney and those looking for a unique shoe in the upcoming year. The sneakers feature the Mickey Mouse and The Evil Lord characters. One colorway is black and purple, while the other is more subtle with shades of brown. Both versions have thick white shoelaces and white mid-soles.

These sneakers are set to be released in spring of 2009. Look for more detailed pictures of these kicks, as well as the rest of the collection, in upcoming months. Via High Snobiety.

Mickey Vampire Converse All Stars

HelloDesign turned an off-white pair of Converse All Stars into a fun twist on Mickey Mouse. Mickey’s 80th birthday has recently passed and HelloDesign seems to have taken on the innocent image of the cartoon character with these shoes. I found these photos at HelloDesign’s Customsnkr.com blog linked here.

The right shoe has an image of Mickey Mouse smiling with pointy vampire teeth. The look in Mickey’s eyes portends more mischief than fun but HelloDesign does a good job of playing with the character without going over the edge. The interior of the left shoe features the words Walk Disney in the familiar cursive font of Walt Disney.

While the blank canvas of the Converse All Stars is an easy mark for custom artists, HelloDesign didn’t waste space with abstract designs and bright colors. The Mickey Vampire Converse All Stars are fairly simple but the designer’s irreverent take on an iconic image is appreciated.

Mickey Mouse Custom Nikes

Sol Sircuz created these custom Air Nikes for a young lady nicknamed Baby Bop. The client brought a pair of two-year old Nikes as well as an idea for a Mickey Mouse theme to Sol Sircuz. He took the all-white sneakers and turned them into an homage to one of American entertainment’s iconic figures. You can check out additional customs from Sol Sircuz at his MySpace page linked here.

The Baby Bop nickname was featured prominently throughout the shoe in black paint. Sol Sircuz wrote Baby Bop across the back with black lettering set apart from a red and black background by white shading. The right tongue says Baby Bop while the left tongue says I Love Mickey to show the client’s love of this Disney character.

Sol Sircuz showed his artistic chops by adding some glitz to Mickey’s familiar face. The Mickey face painted on the toe box features rhinestone eyes that glimmer when exposed to light. The designer also used small rhinestones on the Nike swoosh to set this shoe off. Sol Sircuz has showed his skills with the Mickey Mouse Nikes. You can get information on your own customs by emailing solsircuz@hotmail.com.
