I have been writing about the Vans’ Major League Baseball Opening Day Collection and to continue this nice endeavor, let me bring to you the New York Yankees’ version of Vans Vault Old Skool LX. This limited edition MLB-inspired sneaker is now available for DQM in New York City. So what can we expect from this Vans silhouette? Is this better than the other MLB team inspired releases? This particular shoe has a low top cut with white leather material for its upper. Jordan Jeter Prime – Black/White

With Derek Jeter winning his fifth World Series Ring this past season with the New York Yankees, Jordan Brand has decided to give Jeter a new sneaker. The new shoe is dubbed the Jordan Jeter Prime. This pair draws resemblance from the Jeter Clutch, which was released back in 2008. The shoe features a simple look, with a black and white colorway. Black is seen on most of the base which is made of suede. White is seen on the midsole, stitching, and tongue tag. Added features include a black patent leather strip around the shoe, a black outsole, and perforations seen on the side panels. You can pick these up now at Marquee Sole.

New York Yankee Dunks

I came across these custom Dunks while looking through Sneakers by Sean’s Customsnkr.com blog linked here. These Dunks were created in honor of Yankees Stadium’s last year as well as its role as host to the MLB All Star Game. The designer listed these sneakers at $100 in a men’s size 10US.

Sneakers by Sean loaded up his custom Dunks with logos to honor the New York Yankees. The outside right heel has the All Star Game logo while the outside left heel has the logo for Yankees Stadium’s final season. Both Nike swooshes are painted in red with the front curl replaced by the team’s logo.

The designer’s efforts yielded mixed results on these Nike Dunks. His replication of the New York Yankees logo on the toe box as well as the All Star and Final Season logos was flawless. I was less impressed by the Yankees logo at the front of the Nike swoosh; the bottom of the logo circle is a little sloppy. While the swoosh logo is not executed well, I think that the New York Yankee Dunks is pretty good on the whole.

The Jeter Clutch sneakers are Derek Jeter’s signature shoe. Jeter, the shortstop for the New York Yankees, is having another great year at the plate. Jeter is hitting over .300 once again and has the Yankees within striking distance in the American League.
